MyCaseViewer started as one investigator's answer to a problem every investigator has: getting finished surveillance to a client without a stack of DVDs or a folder of Dropbox links.

Matt Ballard, founder
1975–2020
Matt was a licensed private investigator who co-founded MyCaseViewer along with Robert Keddie. He built the first version of MyCaseViewer out of his own frustration with delivering surveillance footage to clients — burning DVDs, mailing packages, uploading to slow consumer file-sharing tools — and led the company as it grew from a prototype in 2012 into a service used by private investigators across the country.
MyCaseViewer was shut down due to Matt's passing in 2020. Matt's vision for MyCaseViewer has been re-ignited by Robert Keddie, co-founder and President/CTO of the first iteration of MyCaseViewer, and this rebuild carries the same idea he started with: give an investigator's finished work a presentation worthy of it, delivered as one secure link — with a few more features made possible with the advent of AI.

Present day
Robert co-founded MyCaseViewer with Matt and now leads its engineering — this rebuild included, from the encrypted storage and case-password gate to the blockchain-timestamped sealing described on the blockchain-seal page. The product has changed a great deal since 2012; the reason it exists has not.
